This home received a new 200 amp outdoor main breaker panel with 40 spaces. A larger panel gives the homeowner more room for dedicated circuits, future electrical additions, and modern equipment such as EV chargers, shop circuits, outdoor circuits, and generator equipment.

As part of this project, we also installed a 50 amp EV circuit. Having a dedicated EV charging circuit at home can make charging more convenient and helps ensure the circuit is properly sized for the equipment being installed.

We also installed a generator interlock kit and generator inlet. This gives the homeowner a safer way to connect a portable generator during a power outage without backfeeding the utility lines.
For homes on Galveston Island and along the Gulf Coast, generator preparation is especially important during hurricane season and storm-related outages.
Whole-Home Surge Protection
This project also included whole-home surge protection. A surge protector installed at the panel helps add another layer of protection for electronics, appliances, and sensitive equipment inside the home.
